Food Safety for Food Security is a five-year, $15 million partnership under the U.S. government’s Feed the Future initiative in the fight against global poverty, hunger, and malnutrition. USDA, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration will provide science-based support to strengthen animal and plant health and food safety measures in target countries. A strengthened enabling environment, including policies and institutions, and farmer, consumer, and industry readiness, is critical to the transformation and resilience of food systems for improved public health, trade, and food security.
